43 homes. 29 votes. One meeting.
We're owners on Winchester Lane organizing for something simple: open books, owner votes on big spending, and real elections — the things our own By-Laws and Illinois law already promise. Our documents let the owners themselves call a special meeting and choose new leadership. No lawsuit. Just a vote.
Owners have asked in writing for the budget, the year-end accounting, and the records behind the roof assessment and its loan. Illinois law gives an association 30 days to answer. We're counting.
Our By-Laws require a two-thirds owner vote before the board spends over $5,000 on capital improvements. We've asked to see how the roof program and its loan were authorized.
First Tuesday of May, 7:30 PM. Notice, ballots, counted votes, published results — every year, the way the By-Laws wrote it in 1988. And open board meetings, with 48 hours' notice, in between.
Everything this campaign asks for is already written down — in the Declaration and By-Laws recorded with the Cook County Clerk in 1988, and in the Illinois statutes that govern community associations. We quote them, section and number, on everything we hand out. Ask any of us for full copies.
If you own on Winchester Lane, your home is one vote — and it only takes 29.
Count me inOr just talk to the neighbor who gave you a flyer. Watch your door and your mail for the meeting notice — date, time, and place will be posted here.
Please keep paying all assessments as usual. This is a vote, not a protest.
